On 2nd October 1975 I was one of two pilots flying this HS125 out of Hatfield in the South of England in very bad weather. In the event we hit a flock of seagulls on takeoff and had to make an emergency landing back in Hatfield. Later that night in a hotel, with only the clothes I stood up in and my Bible, God led me to James 4:13-17. I was reminded of the incident today as I read the same passage. Billy Graham says concerning the brevity of life; “Don’t live as if this life will continue for ever. It won’t. Instead live with eternity in view.”
Seven Key Principles in Scripture
Seven Key Principles
Inspired by “Experiencing God” by Blackaby and King
1. God is always at work around us.
Philippians 2:13 “. . . for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.”
2. God pursues a real and personal love relationship with us.
John 14:21 “He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.”
3. God invites us to become involved with Him in His work in the world.
John 17:18 “As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.”
4. God speaks to us by the Holy Spirit through: the Bible, in prayer (the Holy Spirit), circumstances and through others (the church) in order to reveal Himself, His purposes and His ways.
John 15:15 “No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.”
5. God’s invitation to us to work with Him may lead us to a crisis of belief that requires faith and action on our part.
Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”
6. We may have to make major adjustments to our lives to join God in what He is doing.
Mark 8:34 “And He summoned the crowd with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.””
7. When we do join with God in His activities we will come to know Him through personal experience as we obey Him and He accomplishes His work through us.
Philippians 3:10 “. . . that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death . . .”

“This world doesn’t need more religion. It needs men and women who have seen and heard and touched God, who live that reality daily.” Deborah Manera
Why not make it YOUR mission to be that sort of person?

"Therefore I live for today Certain of finding at sunrise Guidance and strength for the way. Power for each moment of weakness, Hope for each moment of pain, Comfort for every sorrow, Sunshine and joy after rain!" Anonymous
Walking through the Year with Jesus
As I reflected on the last year and God’s blessings this morning I re-read Nancy’s lovely writing ‘The Valley of the Vision’ . It reminds me of the need to abide In Christ, to walk with Him, to adjust to His programme and agenda. May God bless you abundantly in 2015.
“I launch my bark on the unknown waters of this year, with . . .
- Thee, 0 Father as my harbour,
- Thee, 0 Son, at my helm,
- Thee, 0 Holy Spirit, filling my sails.
Give me Thy grace to sanctify me . . .
- Thy comforts to cheer,
- Thy wisdom to teach,
- Thy right hand to guide,
- Thy counsel to instruct,
- Thy law to judge,
- Thy presence to stabilize.
May Thy fear be my awe, Thy triumphs my joy.
Length of days does not profit me except . . .
- the days are passed in Thy presence,
- in Thy service, to Thy glory.
Give me a grace that precedes, follows, guides, sustains, sanctifies, aids every hour, that I may not be one moment apart from thee but may rely on Thy Spirit
- to supply every thought,
- speak in every word,
- direct every step,
- prosper every work,
- build up every mote of faith,
- and give me a desire
- to show forth Thy praise;
- testify Thy love,
- advance Thy kingdom.”

A New Adventure
This is a new adventure for me. Like most things computer when you know what to do it takes a few seconds. When you don’t it takes forever! Hopefully as I learn a little bit more about this whole process things will, dv, get better!

Foundations of Faith
“I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. Galatians 2:20
